Fredensborg is located in a scenic part of Northern Sjælland, which alternates between hilly open landscape, vast forests and large lakes. The Royal Danish family’s spring and autumn Residence, Fredensborg Slot, is located in this area, and is a large attraction for all.

The large trading town Hillerød, which apart from offering a multitude of shopping possibilities such as Slotsarkaderne, and a pedestrian walk way, also is home to Frederiksborg Castle. Frederiksborg Castle lies on three small islands in the castle lake situated in Hillerød city center.

Within the castle walls await many cultural experiences for the whole family, whilst the surrounding areas around the castle offer many diverse paths for keen walkers as well as fun sailing opportunities.

Frederiksborg Castle which was built by Christian the 4th in the 16th Century is one of the Scandinavia’s largest renaissance buildings, and has continual large historical value, and is absolutely an area which is worth a visit.


Both Allerød and Hillerød are surrounded by beautiful country side nature and vast forests. Both offer many sport and cultural activities for all, including Hillerød Golf Club and various other sport clubs.

You can, via the Hillerød Motorway or Helsingør motorway reach Copenhagen within 30 minutes. If you wish to use public transport, then you can take the local train from Fredensborg to Hillerød.
