Helsingør is Sjælland’s most northern, larger city and offers a variety of possibilities, including the half hourly ferry departures to Sweden. You’ll also find that Helsingør is home to Hamlet’s castle and to a very charming old town. Overall Helsingør has many points of interest, both culturally and socially. Shopping is plentiful and full of variety, with both the more individual shops and chains being present side by side. There is also a large variety of events throughout the year.


If you head west you’ll find some of the best beaches of Sjælland in Hornbæk and Dronningmølle, not far from Helsingør. The nature is very scenic and in the summer you can really enjoy the tranquility of the Danish countryside along the northern coast of Sjælland.

Public transport is excellent here, enabling easy transport to Copenhagen, the airport and the other towns along the costal line leading towards Copenhagen or leading west along the northern coast.
