The Story

Steen Lundsfryd founded Housing Denmark in September 2004 by. After extensive research of the field and the industry itself, Steen Lundsfryd started writing a business plan. His goal was to create a modern and completely new housing company that was to be different and more efficient, at the same time as providing property owners and tenants with a good experience in order to meet their expectations - and exceed them. 


Steen started the company in his private villa on Tjellesensvej in Espergærde. Later on, he sold the villa and moved the company to the newly purchased house on Strandvejen in Klampenborg. When more employees joined the company, this house became too small so the business moved once again into a former embassy at Henningens Allé in Hellerup. In 2009, following requests from employees as well as property owners and tenants, Steen Lundsfryd decided to move the office to the "real estate district" on Strandvejen in Hellerup, thereby securing a high degree of exposure matching the level of real estate agents. When Scandia Housing went bankrupt in spring 2013, Housing Denmark took over the business, which necessitated yet another move - this time into completely redesigned premises further down Strandvejen in Hellerup. This final destination had more room for more new employees, all of whom were suited and ready to lift the legacy after Denmark's largest housing agency.

Since 2004, the company has grown year by year, and today Housing Denmark is the market leader.

Since 2004, our focus has been to protect the very special sense of "home", and without bragging it has been a very successful process! Today we are Denmark's largest housing agency. We rent out furnished as well as unfurnished properties on a monthly and yearly basis, and we cover everything from small charming one-bedroom apartments in downtown Copenhagen to 500 squaremeter villas on the coast. Everything we do, we do with passion and professionalism, and with a networkof 1,200 companies, we can match the property owner with the right tenant using a quick and safe process.

Thanks to our deep insight into the rental market and the Danish Rent Act, we can ensure that nothing is left to chance. Our service department can act as your one-point-of-contact and help you with all aspects of renting out and maintaining your property, covering everything from photographing your home or creating a virtual display to supervising the property on an ongoing basis and dealing with the complete administration process.


We know that in order to create new life away from home you need peace of mind. This goes for the property owner who is leaving his house to the tenant who just wants to settle down.
